The establishment of the Czech Arab Chamber of Commerce (CACC) was initiated by the Conference on Czech - Arab Commercial Relations which took place on the 8th of February 1994. CACC was registered six months later on the 8th of August 1994 as an association of legal entities. There were leading production companies, banks, investment funds, export companies and private businessmen among founding members.
It took only few years and membership of CACC increased to 67 members as to the list of April 1998 (the list of members is enclosed). The Chamber has organised quite a good number of different activities as seminars, missions of entrepreneurs and meetings of Czech and Arab businessmen aimed at support of development of commercial relations between the Czech Republic and Arab countries.
The increasing activities of CACC were appreciated by Arab countries. In 1997 CACC was admitted as a member of the General Union of Arab Chambers of Commerce, Industry and Agriculture seated in Beirut which is an associated member of the League of Arab States.
The general meeting of CACC which took place on the 18th of February 1998 approved changes in its statutes and elected new managing bodies of the Chamber (see the chapter "Organization").
